Below are a few comments, in their own words, from some regular visitors to the the Guild as to what the Guild means to them. These comments are listed in alphabetical order of their Discord ID:cringeycos18:Guild of Games is like a home away from home. The events have helped my confidence skyrocket thanks to all of the brilliant people there!DinoG258:The guild of games is for me a hub where I can go and meet like minded people who enjoy the same things as me, it is also a place that makes me feel welcome as the staff and the other customers makes oneself feel as though they have a second family that they can talk to about things and seek advice if they need it and sometimes have a laugh with others whether they know them or not helping people and myself overcome things that they struggle with such as speaking to people they barely know Fi <3:I really like guild of games π The people are obviously lovely and it’s nice to see what’s in store. I think its like a safe place which is great to have especially in Rotherham, and there’s a lot of cool merch πGinge:It’s a lovely place to go, I mostly visit on Saturdays when I can and they’re doing the Smash tournament, the community it’s gathered around itself is lovely and there’s just always a lot of smiling faces whenever I go π§ππ‘π’π« ηΌ:I remember when the boys announced they were going to reopen as Guild Of Games and I was super excited and intrigued. Given how much I loved the old shop and how welcoming the guys were I was willing to support the shop in any way I could as I was there at the beginning.I was one of the first to become a guild member and I gave the guys lots of ideas on how to promote and improve their shop by travelling to local areas and giving out leaflets.I was honoured to have my birthday party there and me and my guests were treated very good and I was able to have a great time. The shop is accommodating to my additional needs and my physical disabilities and I always feel welcome and I don’t feel like an outcast.Overall would recommend this shop to anyone who is a nerd and enjoys gaming. Kaitmim:It’s great the guild is filled with so many kind people who share similar hobbies to me so I find it truly fantastic to be able to talk to people who like my hobbies and are easy to interact with.Lissyloop:Well, itβs allowed me to meet new people and learn a lot about DnD and I think itβs a fun place to relax.Makima: “Guild of Games is a home away from home. That might sound like an exaggeration at first, but when you live in a town that is sorely lacking in social spaces for game enthusiasts (whether it be tabletop games, videogames or card games), it really puts into perspective how important it is to have that space that genuinely is a diamond in the rough. But what really makes a space like that shine and sparkle are the culmination of efforts between the staff that feel like a second family, and the community that come together to make friends and fill the rooms with laughter, love and shared interests in all things geeky. Guild of Games has it all, and I can’t believe it’s already been so long since they opened their doors, because it feels like it was just yesterday that I was introducing myself to my lovely second family. Truly nothing but valuable experiences behind those doors”Node:Hi, honestly not been too much, only had a few MTG session there! But they’re always a blast and everyone is friendly!Paladisco:I think of it as the local dnd place where I can get cards and play dnd with like minded people Shrimps:I say it’s a really nice community. When I came down to check it out with some friends of mine I honestly didn’t expect to see someone I knew working there. He came up to me and, alongside my friends, encouraged me to take part in some of the Saturday events alongside dnd. And those who I’ve met at these events are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. The community that guild of games has is really amazing and I think that is the most important thing, to me at least.Silas:Thank You. To the folks of the Guild,Thank you so much for creating this amazing community! Coming here has given me the opportunity to meet some incredible new friends, as well as giving me more confidence in myself. I really appreciate everyone at the Guild for how they’ve helped me!I will return every chance I get,Thanks you so much,SilasTired:I think very highly of the guild, it’s fun to be in a place where I can share my interest with like minded people. To me the guild is a calm place for everyone to socialise and share interests about many things along with being able to ask for assistance when it comes to learning something new like the painting sessions.tiegan/belle:I haven’t been coming to the shop for long but I already love it so much. I have really bad social anxiety, but I always feel really at ease there. Guild of Games is honestly one of very few places I feel comfortable going to, and I think it’s helped me come out of my shell a lot. ToasterMagician:For me, since I came to a yugioh morning event on a Saturday, about 5-6 months back now I think, it has been great.Being able to reconnect with old friends who I’ve not seen in over a year, take part in new card games, meet new people and just have a great time while there has been amazing. The community that has grown there is epic, lots of people I know, and all great people whether it’s playing yugioh, pokemon, video games or just chatting, just is a fun place to be even if I’m popping in for 15 minutes.Truly happy GoG is here as idk where I’d be without you guys π.Thank You.We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers and everyone who has helped us make the Guild a fun and safe place for everyone. Without you all, there would be no Guild. Thank You.
