If you demand real licensed vehicles in your video games, then don’t stop reading, because this baby has 20 dream cars from such diverse stables as Lamborghini, Jaguar, Lotus, Ford, Shelby, Chevrolet, Aston Martin, Audi and Hummer. There are eight tracks from locations around the world. Go to New York, Miami, Paris, Tokyo, Las Vegas, Cuba and others and race for money and glory. With the money you win, you can buy more cars, as well as tune your existing ones – in Asphalt Urban GT over 30 areas can be adjusted for differences in your cars’ looks and performance. There are five different game modes to keep players interested, and being as this game is on the Nintendo DS, several of them offer wireless multiplayer action for up to four people. You can race single races or on some of the tracks from solo Championship Mode, and there’s cat-and-mouse police chase mode for two players. As well as offering pinpoint driving control, the bottom screen of the DS also shows your position and those of your opponents on the track. And as you’d expect from any serious racer these days, there are three different camera angles to choose from. Representing as it does real car racing for up to four players, Asphalt Urban GT is a sound addition to the Nintendo DS launch line-up.
