Dancing Stage Euromix is part of Konami’s family-orientated ‘Bemani’ range of music titles. Using either a Psone controller or special dance mat accessory, players must press the relevant buttons as they appear on the screen. Bonuses are awarded for freestyle moves, with additional tracks and hidden items unlocked as the game progresses. This game really should be played with the mat, available separately, or maybe you can find the game and the mat bundled together. Bargain! Anyway, we digress. Using the mat is ten times the fun of using a standard gamepad. You must stand on the appropriate section of the mat at the right time. On the harder levels you are often required to enter two different directions at the same time, if using a pad, so you see, it’s easier to play with the optional dance mat. It’s like having a dancing competition in your own house. Dancing Stage Euromix has a selection of 24 different tracks for you to dance to, hits like Shaft’s Mucho Mambo and Boyzone’s So Good. The music is varied and there are bound to be a few tracks that you will like. Most of the time you concentrate so hard on the gameplay and getting your timing right, that you forget to listen to the music. Dancing Stage Euromix is a hugely enjoyable experience, especially for those with two left feet! DSE guarantees a lot of laughs with friends, and maybe even the loss of a few kilos in weight if you play hard enough. Only with the mat, though, only with the mat. Without it, fun is still on the agenda. Just watch those fingers and thumbs sweat!
