Gun Griffon Blaze is very appropriately titled, since it is a game that consists of big guns, huge fighting machines, and massive mech-destruction. In a post-apocalyptic future where the nations of the world have splintered into numerous unstable factions, only the powerful Western Alliance can restore peace and stability. New to the first 128-bit instalment of Gun Griffon are a host of brand new features. There are now six huge and diverse battle areas that are home to some stunningly controlled AI opponents. There are a whopping forty different enemy units available that are easily capable of showing you the `Game Over’ screen a lot quicker than you might expect. To even things out a little, you will have a wealth of mechs to choose from that are home to some truly destructive weapons. Fortunately, for such a tactical game, the mechs you are asked to manoeuvre have simple controls, easing the learning curve considerably. Gun Griffon Blaze aims to be a hardcore action game that, while having a decent stab at a storyline, remains a non-serious playing experience, and that’s not a bad thing to be.
