Each event has a qualification setting that you must match or best in order to keep competing. Your goal? To establish new world records in each event! These times, along with your name and country, can be saved to memory card.
The 11 events you’ll be entering are as follows: the 100 meter dash, 110 meter hurdles, long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, hammer throw, javelin, discus, shot put and 100 meter free-style swimming. The control is designed to be simple and involves rapid button tapping to build up speed or power while racing. Some events require you to time your presses as well, such as jumping or throwing items like the discus or hammer.
If you have a Multi-Tap, four players can compete in the 100M dash, 100M free-style and 100M hurdle simultaneously, while taking turns in the remaining events. International Track & Field also includes a practice mode for those having difficulty qualifying. Let the games begin!
