We know you like to monkey around. So does Ubisoft. That’s probably why they’ve felt the need to warm up your winter with My Monkey Family for Nintendo DS, a portable version of the Wii’s Petz Monkey Madness. In a bizarre twist on the virtual pet tip, this game enables you to raise and care for a family of Orang Utans, Gorillas, Tamarins and the like. You choose a monkey from a wide variety of breeds and customise his look with a selection of outfits and accessories. Special Ubisoft-approved science even enables you to cross breed and create your unique monkey. Then you can watch your monkey grow and develop its own personality. Imagine, if you will, a Gorilla crossed with a Macaque! After adopting your first primate, it’s training time, where you can use rewards and discipline to mould your monkey’s behaviour. Your monkey may turn out to be meek, courageous, loyal, indifferent. Who knows? It’s up to you and your training methods. Feeding time is important too, as your pet needs healthy food in order to thrive, so make sure you feed it regularly. Socialising is an important part of monkey life too, if you want to be surrounded by happy primates. Help your monkey bond with other monkeys, and over time you can breed them to create unique families that play together. You can keep them all entertained with the selection of toys and interactive objects in your house’s different rooms.
