Whoever came up with the idea of Trivial Pursuit, we salute you. Taking the ‘Bore’ out of ‘Pub Bore’ (and out of the pub while you’re at it) trivia means a lot more than it used to. Strange thing, that… Trivial Pursuit as we know and admire it sees players rolling the dice and answering questions on a certain subject in an attempt to secure six cheese-shaped pieces and ultimately win the game. So far, so good. But it’s the questions that matter. For example, the name of The Beatles’ own record label…can you recall what it was? Whaddya mean, ‘What’s a record label?’ Philistine. Okay, what breed is the dog in Beethoven’s Fifth? Who put the cookies in the cookie jar? Alright, you would never find the latter question in the game, but the preceding two questions are just a flavour of what you can expect from Trivial Pursuit. Questions are divided into six subjects: Geography, Entertainment, History, Arts & Literature, Science & Nature, and Sports & Leisure, and while you may be strong in some subjects, you are sure to be weaker in others, which can mean a single game can go on for hours. How do we know? Because we’ve played this game many times, and the good thing to report is that it never gets old. There are thousands of questions within, and the chances of repetition are slim. The chances of repetition are slim. Sorry, we couldn’t resist. Right now is when you should stop reading and start playing anyway. Go get Trivial Pursuit and be fascinated on a regular basis!
